Rural Settlement Strategic Frameworks
28 villages in three Council areas are committed to the development of strategic development frameworks.

Village Enhancement Scheme
17 villages in 6 council areas are benefiting from these initiatives

Shop Front Scheme
4 villages in 2 council districts are involved in shop front improvement schemes

Training / Mentoring / Customer Care Programme
All villages and settlements in all council areas are committed to customer service and community training on a cross-border basis.

Objectives and Evaluation
The Project has 11 major, measurable objectives. Each of the 8 local authorities involved is committed to achieving specific, measurable objectives and to the delivery of training and mentoring programmes. When completed, the Project’s achievements will be assessed against these aims through a formal evaluation.

Project Funding

Promoting Pride in Our Rural Villages is funded by the EU INTERREG IIIA Community Initiative Programme Measure 1.4, Rural Initiative and by contributions from the 8 EBRTP councils.

INTERREG IIIA is designed to develop the rural economy in disadvantaged cross-border areas. Pride in Our Rural Villages has a budget of £STG 800,000 / €1,160,000 over two years. £600,000 / €870,000 has been provided by INTERREG IIIA, with a contribution of £200,000 / €290,000 from EBR tourism partners.
